Description: Hardman was established in 1842 by Hugh Hardman in NYC. Later in 1890 Leopold Peck became a partner and the name became Hardman Peck & Co. when they incorporated in 1905.
This handsome instrument was built before this merger, hence the single Hardman name.
It was rescued in Albuquerque and brought to our workshop for a thorough rehabilitation.
The soundboard was repaired and it now has tight ribs – the proof is in the sound which is big and rich.
The action was cleaned, repaired and regulated. It has been tuned to a stable A440 pitch.
The bottom board was removed, cleaned and all the trapwork remounted, all pedals are tight.
Original ivory key tops and ebony sharps were cleaned and repaired.
The mahogany case and bench were cleaned, repaired and restored. It is ready for a new home where it can be appreciated for all its fine qualities.
